Graham spent 15 years on the mission field in St. Petersburg, Russia where he grew up with his parents Blake and Cathy Purcell. After returning to the USA he completed his bachelor’s degree in Political Science at The University of Mississippi. Upon graduation he was commissioned into the U.S. Army as a Field Artillery Officer. He was stationed at Ft. Sill in Oklahoma for most of this time but also did one tour in Afghanistan doing route security patrols and as the base defense officer for a small outpost in Parwan Province.
While in Afghanistan, Graham felt the Lord calling him out of the military and into ministry. He eventually landed at Covenant Theological Seminary where he is now a rising third year student. He met his wife Sarah during her own missionary travels to Russia. They now have a little girl--Elenora Grace Purcell, born May 2015.
During their time at Covenant, Graham and Sarah have been working with international students from all over the world through ISI (International Students, Inc.). They work with the local ISI team and churches in the St. Louis area to host events and activities for international students. Their goal is to partner with local church bodies in hopes of developing “friendship partners” between families from these congregations and international students. It is through these relationships that many of these students come in contact with Christians and hear the gospel for the first time.
Graham and Sarah consider it a privilege to have these students in their home, around their dinner table, and in Bible study.
